Movements by piece:
- The Pawn – Moves one square forward, but on its first move, it can move two squares forward.It captures diagonally one square forward.
- The Bishop – Moves any number of squares diagonally.
- The Knight – Moves in an ‘L-shape,’ two squares in a straight direction, and then one square perpendicular to that.
- The Rook – Moves any number of squares horizontally or vertically.
- The Princess© – Moves any number of squares as the Queen does diagonally, horizontally and vertically and with the additional moves of the Knight which moves in an ‘L-shape,’ two squares in a straight direction, and then one square perpendicular
- The Queen – Moves any number of squares diagonally, horizontally, or vertically.
- The King – Moves one square in any direction.
