*The wood used for standard ready-made boards is dependent on wood type available. Currently, the boards are being made from mahogany and rosewood for the borders and maple or walnut for the squares. All chess boards and pieces are sold as sets and cannot be separated. Ensure you make your selection carefully as there cannot be any refunds or exchanges.

State of the art chess pieces with a striking industrial aesthetic. Seven uniquely designed chess pieces milled in Australia using premium grade aluminium. The perfect partner to the MBS Chess® and MBS Multi Player Chess™ boards. 

The pieces in MBS Multiplayer Chess™ and MBS Chess® are:

Each high-end chess piece sits stoically upon the MBS Chess® and MBS Multi Player Chess™ boards. 

Key Features:

  • The NEW Princess© piece adds an additional piece to the board to add a layer of complexity and challenge to the game. 
  • Select from a range of 9 stylish colours including: black, blue, gold, green, purple, red, silver, white and yellow. 
  • Complete customisation is made possible Custom colours available to create a truly unique MBS Multiplayer Chess™ and MBS Chess® set.
  • Each MBS Chess Piece set incorporates 36 pieces.
  • Each piece is milled in Sydney using premium grade aluminium. 

 

Movements by piece:

  • The Pawn – Moves one square forward, but on its first move, it can move two squares forward.It captures diagonally one square forward.
  • The Bishop – Moves any number of squares diagonally.
  • The Knight – Moves in an ‘L-shape,’ two squares in a straight direction, and then one square perpendicular to that.
  • The Rook – Moves any number of squares horizontally or vertically.
  • The Princess© – Moves any number of squares as the Queen does diagonally, horizontally and vertically and with the additional moves of the Knight which moves in an ‘L-shape,’ two squares in a straight direction, and then one square perpendicular
  • The Queen – Moves any number of squares diagonally, horizontally, or vertically. 
  • The King – Moves one square in any direction.
